Testimonials

Nicki, 50s, Haywards Heath I first went to Julies Classes 7 years ago when I had some back pain. I explored pilates as a possible method of helping with this and came across Julies classes which were held very close to where I live, My back pain spontaneously resolved before the first class but having been someone who had never done regular exercise in the past but wished I did, I decided to go along anyway. I had tried an aerobics class before and didn't enjoy it, and for a short period attended a gym which was expensive and wasn't for me either. Working as a nurse for many years I had been lucky to not have many back problems before so thought that pilates might help me to be more toned and maintain my back health. After a few months of attending I decided to join Julies ultimate stomach cardio and core class-They were a bit more challenging but I was able to keep up with them too. Convenience may have been the reason I started going to her classes, but it's Julies lovely manner that has kept me going to them. The classes have an informal feel but are very structured and the time is well used. Julie is friendly whilst being professional. She makes you feel comfortable and offers options for all levels of abilities. All ages groups attend. Over the past few months, I have had had hip bursitis and tennis elbow and as Julie always checks in at the start of the class, I feel comfortable to mention them and Julie advises modifications to exercises, if needed. I consider attending Julies classes has achieved what I wanted. I am more toned and flexible, with improved posture and balance. I feel invigorated after a class and it is just what I need after a hard day to release tensions. The online pilates videos have been brilliant too.

Gina, 50s, Burgess Hill Inoriginally went to Julie because of her Sports therapy qualifications, having a recurring back muscular problems for over 20 years and having also developed a similar problem with my shoulder. Julie did a few sports massage sessions which alleviated the symptoms and suggested pilates would help in the long term. I had exercised regularly resulted in short tight muscles. I wanted to compliment and balance my gym programme, increase flexibility, and build core strength in order to support my weak back. I achieved more than I could have hoped for. I used to wake up stiff with shoulder and lower back ache, although it would pass after shower and some movement, it was still disconcerting. I now wake up totally pain free and with full mobility. My core is very strong and this has helped me with my gym work. My shoulder was cured very quickly and I have had only one back spasm since i have been practising pilates. Pre- Pilates I used to have a serious spasm annually resulting in a week of work every time. Although my balance has always been poor, i see some improvement. I am much more mindful of my posture and actually measure 1.5cm more than before I began pilates.
